Yonkers  Historical Society teams with Blue Door Art Gallery to create a fabulous photography exhibit
"Yonkers Then and Now"

     What: Yonkers Then and Now: An exhibit of vintage photographs from the collections of the Yonkers Historical Society, the Hudson River Museum, the Yonkers Planning Department and Yonkers residents with parallel photos of Yonkers in 2005 taken by a team of Yonkers photographers.

Where and When: Yonkers Riverfront Library until January 8, 2006. The exhibit will then travel.

Who: Curated by Luis Perelman, with assistance from Jackie Lorieo and members of the Yonkers Historical Society.

As an offshoot to the Yonkers: Then and Now exhibit presented by the Yonkers Historical Society and the Blue Door Art Association at the Yonkers Public Library’s Riverfront and Will Branches from November 2005 through March 2006, a poster featuring panoramic views of Yonkers in 1868 and 2006 that is 21” high by 31 3/4” wide is available for sale. The upper image (circa 1860’s) is black and white and the lower image (circa 2005) is in color with the poster’s background in two tones of deep claret. The posters cost $10 for Yonkers Historical Society (YHS) members, $15 for non-members plus $4 shipping and handling (if desired) for each poster. All proceeds go to benefit the Yonkers Historical Society and the Blue Door Art Association.
